Lets look at those stats and decide who is going to win.
Doctor Strange is good. He's even excellent, among the best of the best, I'll give him that. However, when it comes right down to it, Iron Man is better, not just statistically, but inventively and combatively too. Iron Man > Dr. Strange. That breaks the back of most of the arguments I've heard right there.
Luke Cage and Ronin, 2v1 on Sentry... 'Nuff said, Sentry wins.
Echo vs. Wonder Man. Let her fight him as skillfully as she wants, she'll never match Wonder Man's physical stats.
Let Wolverine and Ares hack away at each other and Ares will at least hold his own. Wolvie still stands a good chance of winning, though...
Iron Fist is a close-combat fighter who knows how to come up on somebody, Black Widow a ranged fighter who knows how to keep her distance. It depends on who winds up being better at doing what they do; In the end I give the fight to Iron Fist.
Wasp goes against Spider Woman. Its a good fight; if Spider Woman can hit her, the fight is hers; if not, Wasp wins it hands-down.
Spider-Man takes on Ms. Marvel and, without a scratch from those impressive concussion blasts, takes her down.
These opening fights, save for Ares vs. Wolverine and Iron Man vs Strange, are going to be over very quickly. Eventually, though, the initial combat will be over, casualties will be counted while the pause endures and the combatants will eventually start up again full-blast.
So round two looks like this:
Iron Man, Sentry, Wonder Man and other possible winners vs. Spider Man, Iron Fist and possible winners.
The Ares - Wolverine battle makes or breaks the fight for both teams. Spider Woman and Wasp can both be done without, but at this point both Ares and Wolverine are invaluable to their team. If Ares wins, the Mighty Avengers are coming out on top. If Wolverine wins, the New Avengers are going to have a chance.
So, assuming that Wolverine wins:
Iron Man vs. Spider-Man is going to be a good one. Iron Man is ultimately a better fighter then Spider-Man, but Spider-Man is more clever, tricker, craftier. However, in the end I think Tony Stark's smarts trump Peter Parker's, and in addition to his supremely superior abilities the fight goes to Iron man.
Sentry vs. Wolverine, now that Ares is out of the picture, is the new focal point of the fight. It is possible that Wolvie will knock the fatigued Sentry out in the fight, but it is also possible that Sentry will turn up the nuke power and get Wolverine into la-la land before the fight's over.
Wonder Man will, by default, be fighting Spider-Woman, assuming Wasp loses as is entirely too possible, and Iron Fist. Spider-Woman doesn't realistically stand much of a chance against the man who has Invulnerability and Super-Strength as his main powers. Neither does Iron Fist. Even together, they don't stand much of a chance, but there's always that off chance that the pair just might pull it off.
Looking into round three, it appears the New Avengers might just be out of the picture. However, if Wolverine beats sentry, he'll have to fight Wonder Man and Iron Man alone. He's not going to win that fight unless God himself mandates it.
I give the fight to the Mighty Avengers. However, I'll concede that there's too many conditionals to make any concrete conclusions. We'd have to let the comic writers actually put the two against each other to see who'd actually win.
As for the Strange vs. Surfer fight, everybody who said Strange would win must have been on drugs when they said it... no offense intended. Dr. Strange is good, but just speaking statistically, he's no match for Silver Surfer.
Dr. Strange: Intelligence 7, Strength 4, Speed 4, Durability 5, Energy 7, Skill 4
Silver Surfer: Intelligence 7, Strength 7, Speed 7, Durability 7, Energy 7, Skill 7
With those statistics alone, there's not a snowballs chance in hell that Surfer's going to lose the fight, especially since Silver Surfer is capable of doing with the Power Cosmic just about everything Dr. Strange is capable of doing with Magic. How could Dr. Strange even hope to stand up to such a nearly all-powerful being? And I'm not just saying that because I'm biased, I'm saying that because it's logically the way it would happen.
Now, my proposed fight is as follows. Two villains who are concretely evidenced as being more powerful then any Marvel hero could ever dream of being struggle for their very lives: Onslaught vs. Galactus!
Note: I know very little about Onslaught; if this fight is a big mismatch, don't laugh
too hard.
