"I could really get used to this." Jason said to himself out loud as he looked around the presidential suite The Illusive Man gave him. He walked into the bedroom and opened the briefcase on the edge of the bed. He grabbed out the headset from one of the pockets inside and put it in his ear, grabbed out a couple hundreds and stuffed them in his wallet. He closed the case, placing it on the top shelf in the closet, then made his way to the large window and opened the curtains. Letting out a deep sigh, Jason couldn't help but smile to himself at the magnificent view of the city at night. "Look at all those lights." Jason exclaimed to himself.
After getting a general idea of what he thought to be his place of residence for a while, Jason decided he was too excited to stay in his room. Finally deciding to go for a stroll to get a lay of his surroundings. It would also give him a chance to think of the business deal he had just made.
Upon exiting the elevator, Jason placed his hand in his pants pocket making sure he had his lighter. Confident he did, he brought up his hands and flipped up the collar of his leather coat, protecting his neck from the cold he knew was coming. He gave a nod to the door-man, then started making his way down the sidewalk.
He stopped after a while for a cappuccino. "Double mocha-latte," he told the man who made it. Who gave Jason a look when he accepted the hundred dollar bill. After receiving his hot drink and stuffing his change in his wallet, Jason made his way out of the coffee shop and down the street. After a few random turns with no destination in mind, he found himself walking down the middle of a surprisingly quiet street. Making another turn he stopped in his tracks. Standing a few feet in front of him, a mechanical dog raised its tail aiming a laser at Jason's forehead. Then it spoke in a weird mechanical voice.
"zzzMUTANT DETECTED!zzzHALT!zzzYOU ARE ORDERED BY THE MRD TO STAND DOWN!zzz"
He raised his hands, dropping his drink on the street. He looked up and spotted down the road at the next intersection what he assumed to be M.R.D. agents making their way toward him. Three of them.
"Ah shit!" Jason exclaimed, noting his lighter was in his pants pocket. "See these are the times I wish I could create fire."
